EstimateOne Tendering Support for Subcontractors and Builders

What EstimateOne is, how a tender moves through it, and what Sami Strategy Co. does inside it for you.

Complimentary Consultation

EstimateOne tendering support is Sami Strategy Co. working inside EstimateOne (E1) on your behalf. We watch the invitations as they arrive, read the tender documents, price the trade package, lodge the quote before the closing date and track it through to the builder's decision. EstimateOne is a tendering platform that Australian builders use to invite subcontractors to quote on their projects and to share the tender documents those quotes are based on.

Our tendering services page covers the engagement as a whole. This page goes deeper on the platform: what a builder publishes on E1, how an invitation reaches a subcontractor, what happens during the tender period, and our work at each point.

We are based in Melbourne, Victoria. EstimateOne is an online platform, so the same support is available to subcontractors and builders anywhere in Australia.

What We Do

What does EstimateOne tendering support cover?

On EstimateOne, a builder publishes a project and the trade packages it wants priced, attaches the drawings, specification and other tender documents, sets a closing date and invites subcontractors to quote on each package. During the tender period the builder can issue addenda and answer requests for information through the same project listing. Each subcontractor lodges its quote on E1, and the builder reviews the quotes received before deciding who to award.

Our role is to carry the subcontractor's side of that process for you. We check each invitation against the trades, project types and regions you want, open the documents, measure and price the package at your agreed rates, write the inclusions, exclusions and qualifications, and lodge the submission on E1. After the closing date we stay in contact with the builder and record the outcome.

  • Reviewing each E1 invitation against your trade, capacity and preferred project types
  • Downloading and reading the drawings, specification and contract conditions
  • Raising requests for information with the builder when the documents are unclear or conflict
  • Checking addenda issued during the tender period and repricing where they change the scope
  • Lodging the priced submission on EstimateOne with inclusions, exclusions and qualifications attached
  • Keeping a tender tracking record of every invitation, submission, status and outcome
  • Following up with the builder after the closing date and handling post-tender questions

Who This Is For

Who needs help with E1 tenders?

Two groups come to us for EstimateOne support, and each needs something different from it.

Subcontractors

Invitations arrive while you are on site, and each one needs a full read of the documents before a sensible price can be built. We take each invitation from first notice to lodged quote and follow-up, so the closing date is met without taking you off the tools. Over time the tender tracking record shows which builders and project types reward your pricing effort.

Builders and head contractors

Builders use EstimateOne to invite subcontractor quotes. When your team is tendering for a head contract, the quotes coming back have to be read, checked for gaps and assembled into one price against the program. We price packages alongside your estimators or take the tender load when your team is full, usually after proving ourselves on ad-hoc estimating.

How It Works

How does a tender move through EstimateOne?

Each E1 tender follows the same path from invitation to outcome, and we have a job at every step.

1

Invitation received

The builder publishes the project on EstimateOne and invites subcontractors to quote on a trade package by a closing date. We check the invitation the day it arrives, confirm it suits the work you want and enter the closing date in the tender tracking record.

2

Documents downloaded and reviewed

We download the drawings, specification and contract conditions from the project listing and read them together. Anything unclear becomes a request for information to the builder, and anything that sits between trades or carries contractual risk is noted for the qualifications.

3

Package measured and priced

We take off the quantities from the drawings and apply the rates agreed at the start of the engagement. If the builder issues an addendum during the tender period, we work out what changed and adjust the price and qualifications to match.

4

Submission lodged on E1

The priced submission is lodged on EstimateOne before the closing date, with inclusions, exclusions and qualifications set out so the builder can compare it fairly. A copy goes to you with the quantities behind the price.

5

Follow-up and outcome

After the closing date we stay in contact with the builder, answer post-tender questions and negotiate scope or terms where there is room to move. The outcome is recorded, won or lost, with any feedback the builder gives.

What You Get

What do tender tracking and submission support give you?

Every E1 tender we handle produces the same four outputs.

01

A lodged E1 submission

Each tender is lodged on EstimateOne as a priced submission with inclusions, exclusions and qualifications. You receive the same submission with the take-off and rates applied, so the price can be checked line by line.

02

A tender tracking record

A single register listing every invitation, whether it was priced or passed, when it was lodged, where it sits with the builder and how it ended. It shows where your pricing time goes and which builders convert into work.

03

An RFI and addenda log

A record of each request for information we raised, the builder's answer, and each addendum issued with what it changed. It explains why a price moved and supports you if the scope is questioned after award.

04

Builder correspondence handled

Post-tender questions, clarifications and negotiation are handled by us and summarised back to you. You know where each tender stands without chasing the builder yourself.

Scope And Cost

What affects the cost of tendering support on E1?

Fees reflect the volume and shape of the EstimateOne work, and these factors set it.

  • How many E1 invitations you want reviewed and priced each month
  • Size of each trade package and the number of drawings behind it
  • How many trades you tender in, since each trade needs its own rates and scope checks
  • Days between the invitation and the closing date
  • Number of addenda and requests for information during the tender period
  • Whether post-tender negotiation is included or you take over after lodgement

Why Sami Strategy

Why hand your EstimateOne tendering to Sami Strategy?

01

E1 is our daily work

Submitting and tracking quotes on EstimateOne is what our estimators do every day. We know where a new invitation appears, how an addendum changes a package and what a builder expects to see in a lodged submission.

02

An estimator behind every submission

Each E1 tender is measured and priced by an estimator who reads the drawings, specification and contract conditions together. The qualifications on the submission come from that reading, so the builder sees a price with a clear scope behind it.

03

Builders who know us

We tender with a network of builders and stay in contact after lodgement. Clear, prompt answers to post-tender questions keep your company in mind when the next project is published.

Google review

I had the pleasure of dealing with Sandra and the team at Sami Strategy Co on a large multi-unit apartment building in Blackburn, VIC. Being a structural engineer, it was a delight to speak to someone who actually understands building.

Questions

Frequently asked questions

What is EstimateOne in plain words?

EstimateOne, often shortened to E1, is an online tendering platform used by Australian builders. A builder publishes a project with its trade packages, attaches the tender documents and invites subcontractors to quote by a closing date. Subcontractors lodge their quotes on the platform and the builder reviews them there.

How do E1 tenders reach a subcontractor?

The builder invites subcontractors to quote on a package, and the project listing carries the drawings, specification and closing date for that package. Addenda and answers to requests for information are issued through the same listing during the tender period. We monitor the invitations on your behalf and act on them the day they arrive.

What do tender submission services on EstimateOne involve day to day?

Day to day the work is reading invitations, downloading documents, measuring and pricing, writing qualifications and lodging submissions before each closing date. Around that sit requests for information, addenda checks and follow-up calls with builders. The tender tracking record is updated as each tender changes status.

What happens when a builder issues an addendum after the package has been priced?

An addendum changes or adds to the tender documents during the tender period. We read it, work out what changed in scope or quantities, adjust the price and qualifications, and make sure the lodged submission reflects the latest documents before the closing date. The change is noted in the tender record so the price movement is explained.

What is tender tracking and why does it matter?

Tender tracking is a record of every invitation received, every submission lodged and the outcome of each one. It shows how much pricing effort is going to each builder and project type and which of them turn into work. Without it, lost tenders are forgotten and the same gaps recur.

How do you decide which EstimateOne invitations to price?

At the initial meeting we agree the trades, project types, project sizes and locations you want to win work in. Each invitation is checked against that list and against the time available before the closing date. Invitations that fall outside it are passed, and the decision is noted in the tender record.

Is subcontractor tendering on EstimateOne different from quoting a builder directly?

The pricing work is the same: read the documents, measure the quantities, apply your rates and set out the scope. The difference is where the information lives. On EstimateOne the documents, addenda, closing date and submission all sit in one project listing, which makes the process more structured.

What information do you need from us before starting on E1 tenders?

We need your current rates for the trades you tender in, your standard inclusions and exclusions, the project types and regions you want, and your capacity over the coming months. We also need to know who in your business signs off a price before it is lodged. These points are covered at the initial meeting and written into the agreement.
